Lowery Metals, also known as Lowery Wholesale, is a family-owned metal supply business based in Paradise, TX. Opened in 1969, Lowery Metals has become the largest culvert supplier in the southern US, providing customers across construction, oilfield, and agricultural industries for over 50 years.

the lowery metals story
Lowery Metals opened in the pasture behind our grandfather’s, Preston Lowery’s, trailer in Paradise, TX, in 1969. Initially selling plastic water well pipes, Lowery Metals operated out of Preston’s backyard for ten years.
From buying old tires to retread and sell to harvesting cross ties from deconstructed railway tracks, Preston never let an asset go to waste or an unnecessary expense get by. One of our favorite stories involves him driving a MAZ MVU-30 (a three-wheeled fertilizer) from Wichita, KA, on I-35 at 30 mph (the machine’s maximum speed) back to Lowery’s to avoid delivery costs. If “watch the pennies and the dollars will take care of themselves” had a spokesperson, it would’ve been Preston.

As a result, Lowery Metals grew its legs. After ten years, Lowery Metals moved to its current storefront along Texas State Highway 114. Preston ran Lowery’s for the next two decades, growing it through the North Texas oil boom, and later joined in 2012 by his youngest, Chris. The two expanded Lowery Metals to where it is today.
